S T A T E M E N T
My paintings are the
outcome of my appreciation of all that is beautiful in this world,
particularly nature’s flora and landscapes. When I see a beautiful sight
I am irresistibly drawn to it, and I experience feelings such as wonder,
gratitude, contentment, peace and excitement. Being born with the gift
of a creative spirit, my feelings overflow and compel me to paint and
draw.
Rather than
paint the recognizable sights of people, places or things, I extract the
qualities, spirit, or essence of the beauty I see around me. I employ
qualities like harmony, gracefulness, vibrancy and serenity in my
abstracts.
As I paint, my
hand is guided by the feelings of pleasure released when my eyes like
what they see. I do not know what the painting will look like before I
start it, instead each one is spontaneous and evolutionary. The main
starting point is often a color, or a color combination. Colors are so
exquisite and dynamic, I believe their beauty alone can be the whole
point of a painting. As I paint with colors in harmonious shapes and
shades, their limitless possibilities emerge.
